Why have fallen? People say it was because of modesty, but now you can pretty long skirt and blouse, modest, without using that in corsets and belts. I am very glad not to live at the time, because I could not deal with the corsets, girdles, belts, or league.

I think it has taken to help things .. help like a girdle, hold in your stomach, so it does not look good - or to keep straps on the ground.
Watch old western movies and the ladies who were in their robes for the hot days. I have often wondered how they survived the heat.

a narrow waist was the thing then ... Modesty is not really ..
What was then very low, so thats what they have done!

To keep your stockings. Back in the 50s who are not "socks" just pantyhose.
